squamish farmers market

I've been busy this winter crafting for the squamish farmers market.
pillows, pillows and more pillows.... and also some other bits.
all made with recycled wool and leather.

crafting day of the dead style

I got this paper mask at Michael's a couple days before halloween....
and seeing as how my posts are few and far between I've decided to share it now....

on a sunny winter day...

As much as I bitch and complain about the rainy Squamish weather,
it sure is beautiful on a sunny day.... even on a cold winter afternoon.
It probably rains 85% of the year here so we have to make the most of the sun!

enchanted tiki room inspired embroidery

giving "new life" to old leather jackets tiki room style. as I've mentioned before I absolutely love the enchanted tiki room at disneyland so I decided to make a couple of pieces for my daughter's room. I used recycled leather and mixed that with embroidery for detail.

my first attempt at paper art

I loved making this little 8x8" paper picture. I was amazed at the different looks I could achieve with the photography. for these photos I used my iphone with the lomo lomo app.

doll bed

Emily got a maplelea doll for christmas. the beds on the maplelea website were a little too pricy for my budget ($90!!) so I decided to cut down some tree branches and make her a miniature log bed.
I also made a little quilt to go along with it.

welcome to my living room

I got this teak table from a garage sale. unfortunately the top was in pretty bad shape so I spray painted it orange.

one of my many embroidery projects, this one I actually finished!

I got the fiberglass lampshade for $3.00 at a flea market and made the tripod base myself.
...love tiki mugs
my mom bought this painting for my grandparents probably 40 years ago. I love it!
this painting was a $12 score at a second hand shop.
this fiberglass lampshade was given to me. I used a candle holder as the base.
the sugar skulls came from musink
I thrifted this magazine holder for $2...what a deal!
